Job Description

Project Overview:

Bechtel is among the most respected engineering, project management, and construction companies in the world. Bechtel operates through four global business units that specialize in infrastructure; mining and metals; nuclear, security and environmental; and oil, gas, and chemicals. Today, our colleague’s team with customers, partners, and suppliers on diverse projects in nearly 40 countries.

Bechtel Infrastructure will work in a Delivery Partner role within an integrated team with the customer organization for a Subway Project in Toronto, Ontario. The project scope includes the design-build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of the new alignment, being performed by three key PPP Contractors and five advanced early works (EAW) packages Contractors. Bechtel forms the key component of the overall leadership team, having delivery partner responsibilities supported by two other components, Technical Advisor (TA) and Program Controls Services Consultant (PCSC).

Responsibilities:

The Utilities Coordinator for the Project is responsible for coordinating the execution of all utility works across the Ontario Line project to ensure successful completion of the utilities scope in support of the PPP Contractors and EAW Contractors.

Specific duties include:

• Build or continue to build relationships with utility companies interfacing with the project and represent the interests of Metrolinx
• Coordination of construction schedules of works performed by utility companies
• Monitor execution of works performed by utility companies in the field
• Coordinate solutions for constructability issues associated with works performed by utility companies in the field
• Coordinate with utility companies for unknown utility identification
• Coordinate with utility companies developing solutions to utility clashes in the field by other contractors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the construction industry and/or large-scale infrastructure projects; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
• Demonstrated technical writing, data management, verbal communication, presentation, and teaching skills
• Extensive experience with utility relocation and license agreements for major infrastructure projects, including rail, design-build, and/or other complex projects
• Experience interacting with local communities
