About the Role
You will work directly with key stakeholders across Corus on the development and support of safety and security processes, policy updates and implementation of programs that aligns with our Corus values and legislative requirements. This role will directly reports to the Director, Labour Relations.

You will be working on things like:
  • Assist in the update and development of Corus’s Hazard Prevention Program (HPP).
  • Partner with internal stakeholders such as Facilities, the People team and local leadership teams across our Corus locations to ensure new and updated programs are aligned with local needs and compliant with the Canada Labour Code and applicable provincial legislation.
  • Analyze and assess current and upcoming legislative Health and Safety requirements at the provincial and federal level while providing recommendations.
  • Support the development of site security processes and training programs across Corus locations.
  • Act as a resource and support for local safety committees on clarification of legislative requirements, Corus processes and policies.
  • Ensure our approach to safety and security aligns with Corus values and overall well-being of our people.
If you have the following…we want to hear from you !
  • Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
  • 1-2 years experience within the field of Occupational Health & Safety with experience on program development and implementation.
  • Experience assessing security processes, providing recommendations and supporting the implementation of security programs.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislations at the Federal (Canada Labour Code) and Provincial (Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act).
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Solid organizational, planning, time management and analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented, proactive approach, outstanding communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work directly and partner with internal stakeholders across multiple teams and locations.
