Job Description:

In collaboration with Genetics Councilors, Geneticist, hospital staff and various community services provides clerical and administrative support to maintain a progressive, efficient, organized healthcare environment that further enhances the patient and staff experience.

Contribute to safe, quality care by
  • Managing a workload effectively in a fast-paced clinic environment.
  • Maintain the clinic schedule.
  • Establishes and maintains statistical records and filing systems.
  • Enters referrals, consults, print labels, and completes work lists on EPIC including the scanning of documents into EPIC
  • Book client appointments and follow up appointments (internal and external).
  • Liaise with various doctor offices to ensure completion of referrals or other documents requested by the team
  • Addressing and resolving issues in a productive, respectful manner.
  • Exercising sound professional judgment and using best practice guidelines.
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive environment for all through compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
What must you have?
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Prior experience in an administrative/clerical role required, preferably within a healthcare environment. Keyboarding skills (40 wpm).
  • Computer literacy in a Windows environment utilizing Word and Outlook.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills.
    Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
