PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The position will be responsible for working with customs and transportation providers; tracking carrier performance; rate benchmarking, freight cost variance and ensuring company freight policies and procedures are being followed. Position will also include involvement in business initiatives, process improvements and strategic planning.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect, organize, monitor, evaluate and report on performance data through automated reporting and regular communication to management and business units. Identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Generate data and provide analysis of freight cost, freight payables, and freight variances
  • Analyze root causes impacting freight costs and identify opportunities for growth
  • Manage incoming requests from all internal departments related to freight quotes and inquiries
  • Coordinate appointments for scheduled inbound shipments from vendor/distribution/customer locations
  • Assist in routing and movement of import goods from both domestic and foreign origins
  • Effectively coordinate local traffic in/out of MacDon facilities
  • Investigate failed/lost shipments including documentation on preventative measures
  • Review, maintain, and pursue USMCA documentation from MacDon Suppliers and MacDon’s own Certificates
  • Maintenance of customs records in JDE including Tariff and Country of Origin
  • Responding to enquiries from US and Canadian Customs Brokers

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years’ of experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Enrolled in CCLP accreditation preferred or similar program
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of Customs and Traffic for Canada-US and International freight movements
