Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Store Manager at our Seasons of Tuxedo Food Store,located at 755 Sterling Lyon Parkway in Winnipeg, MB. This position reports to the District Manager, Food Operations.

Position:

Essential responsibilities of the Store Manager include but are not limited to the following:

  • Be a liaison and public relations representative for the Co-op within the communities we serve.
  • Develop and promote a strong culture of engagement within the store.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the development and achievement of financial results and store budget objectives in the areas of sales, margins, and expenses.
  • Ensure standards of department presentation and operations are met, including cleanliness and sanitation, food safety and food handling standards, inventory control, rotation, ordering and commitment buys, and the delivery of world-class customer service.
  • Track, analyze, and take action to improve store performance by forecasting of sales targets and meeting or exceeding established goals. Communicate sales goals, department performance and sales opportunities to staff to ensure positive results.
  • Develop and direct execution of strategies to improve product placement, cleanliness, sanitation, store maintenance, and overall store image standards.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction and needs. Ensure that employees provide superior, world-class customer service on a consistent basis. Follow up on customer issues or complaints.
  • Provide leadership and assistance to department managers and other staff to ensure that products are properly displayed and ordered to minimize out of stocks.
  • Provide leadership in the area of employee relations, hiring, training, development, performance management, assigning duties, discipline, recognition, termination, security, union contract compliance, administration of policy and procedures and WCB claims.
  • Select, train, develop and manage job performance of store employees, with assistance of other management personnel.
  • Assist and mentor Department Managers and aid in their professional development.
  • Motivate others to perform their job and work towards common objectives; serve as a role model to other employees; maintain a positive working environment and good employee morale.
  • Maintain appropriate professional relationships with union officials, and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreement provisions.

About You:

  • Minimum of 5 years retail management experience performing at a high level. Previous experience as a location manager is also advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of financial operations.
  • Above average communication / interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate staff to achieve high results.
  • A solid understanding of computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
