MUST have minimum of 6 years of more local Canadian wood house framing drafting experience. Do not waste time submitting resume if you don’t, we will just throw it out. We are looking for a very specific structural drafter.

Job Description:

The Senior Structural CAD Drafter/Technologist will work with our fellow Structural Lead Engineer to produce technical structural residential drawings on a variety of residential houses and prestigious custom homes. The candidate must know how to do framing layout including foundation and footing, structural sections, residential shoring / retaining walls and produce a set of structural drawing from start to finish. The Candidate must have the knowledge of building assemblies with various materials, such as wood framing to concrete, steel to concrete, wood to steel, and wood to lightweight metal. The candidate must also have an excellent knowledge of blueprint reading, finding out the structural information from the other discipline’s drawing, such as architectural drawing.

Key Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

· Drafting of building permit structural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, building sections, details and more using AutoCAD

SKILLS

· Knowledge in AutoCAD (a must), Woodwork Sizer, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat

Professional Qualifications

· Local only, no oversea resumes

· Minimum 6+ years of experience in Canadian experience

· Canadian degree / diploma in Architectural Technologist or CET / Structural Engineer

· Experience & understanding of residential (OBC Part 9) design is a must

· Excellent and effective drafting skills in AutoCAD
