Job Title: Quality Control Assistant

We have an opportunity for a Quality Control Assistant to join our staff to meet the demands of our growing business.
About You: If you’re the right person for this job, then you are strongly detail-oriented with an eye for accuracy and you take direction well, being willing and able to assist the lab team as needed, while also being able to work effectively with minimal supervision. You are familiar with a lab environment and you are able to keep meticulous records of such things as chemicals, tests, and samples. You are self-motivated, a fast learner, responsible, and reliable. You’re willing to learn and adapt to new things quickly. You are looking for long-term, full-time employment.

Job Duties:
- Working with Production Supervisor to ensure overall quality remains at the highest level
- Data entry and record keeping
- Quality Control testing, ie. Titration of powdered detergents, analyzing liquid detergents, and other household cleaners prior to packing to conform with specifications.
- Working with mixers to ensure batches meet specifications
- Take samples of and test all incoming raw materials (chemicals, labels, bottles, etc.)
- Inspect final product running on production line for conformance to standards
- Conduct random inspections on finished product stored in our warehouse
- Mix various dye premixes as needed
- Keep accurate records of all testing and inspections on the computer
- Perform weight checks and leak tests on finished goods
- Calibrate equipment, ie. scales, pH meters, viscometer, etc
- Prepare Saline solution for Eye-wash stations
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the lab
- Various administrative duties associated with the QC lab
- Standing/walking for the majority of the day
Qualifications:
Chemical technology diploma or higher
Working knowledge of chemical lab procedures and policies
Willingness to bring up any and all issues to supervisors/manager
Able to handle criticism without taking it personally
Experience handling various lab equipment
Able to adapt quickly to changing environments/standards
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and analytical skills required
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines
Attention to detail and high accuracy
Must live in the Fraser Valley / Lower Mainland / Vancouver area
Hours: Full time, Monday to Thursday 5:15 am – 3:45 pm
