Productivity Support Co-Op (Summer 2022)

Job Description

We are looking for a Productivity Support Co-Op to join our Oshawa OEM Facility. This assignment will provide an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic group of individuals! Key Responsibilities

• Developing spreadsheets and developing targets
  
• Supporting production and layered coaching
  
• Supporting standardized work and workplace organization
  
• Supporting the GMS initiatives People Involvement, standardization, built-in quality short lead time, and continuous improvement
  
• Enforce Health & Safety policies, and promote a safe work environment
  
• Maintain and exceed efficiency levels through continuous improvements
  
• Effective use of personnel, material, and equipment
  
• Align with terms of local and national labour agreements
  
• Maintain department records and complete various administrative tasks
  
• Monitor and achieve business plan objectives/targets

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Business/Commerce, or equivalent degree program and in your 3rd or 4th year of study, or Master student (Preferred)
  
• Eligible to work full-time (40 hours per week) in Canada, and for 4-month term (1 semester) starting May 2022
  
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills including proficency in the English language
  
• Demonstrates initiative, and the ability to plan and implement tasks
  
• Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  
• Fundamental digital literacy including proven understanding of MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  
• Highly adaptable with the ability to work independently with little direct supervision while collaborating within a team environment
  
• Availability and desire to work flexible hours including rotating shifts (days, afternoons, and nights), and overtime/weekends as required
  
• The successful candidate will be required to attest to, and be prepared to provide proof of, their vaccination status and that any job offer will be conditional on the candidate being fully vaccinated

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior manufacturing experience, knowledge of production environments, and in automotive industry are considered assets
