Residential Operations Manager (ROM) - Fredericton, NB

You are a dynamic leader who has expertise in managing operations within a care residence, and can effectively balance client and business needs to achieve effective operations and a positive care experience. If you’re such a manager, our CBI Specialized Community Sevices team welcomes your leadership and expertise.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will oversee a portfolio of care residences, lead and coach staff to ensure smooth operations for all homes and ultimately support optimal client care. Leading by example as a Residential Operations Manager, you will not only ensure that the day-to-day administrative requirements of operating the home are being met, but also contribute directly to the experience of the individuals supported by CBI Health Group within our Specialized Community Services program.

You will be working directly in each home, managing people, systems and resources, as required, which will involve travel to all assigned home locations.

Primary Duties

As Residential Operations Manager, Residential and Transitional Care, you will:
  • Manage the daily operation of assigned residences to assure quality services that meet the therapeutic, social, emotional, health, and safety needs of the clients, in accordance with CBI Health Group’s Philosophy of Care, established Policies & Procedures, Standards of Conduct, Best Practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide team leadership for all homes, schedule Direct Support Worker and Team Lead staff, provide home-specific onboarding and training, and ensure team members understand their roles and are performing to expectations
  • Monitor client and staff safety, minimize risks and ensure the environment is safe at all times,
  • Manage ongoing maintenance of all residences and equipment, ensuring monthly inspections are completed to ensure safety standards, codes and licensing requirements are met
  • Ensure homes are well stocked with groceries and household supplies
  • Work collaboratively with the Clinical Care Manager in hiring Team Lead and Direct Support Worker staff, and ensuring follow through on the Individual Support Plan, Plan of Care, and Behavioural Support Plan
  • Liaise proactively with other business partners in Operations, People and Culture, IT, Marketing, Finance, Quality and Risk, sharing best practices and collaborating on provincial or national initiatives
  • Ensure all individual needs and contractual obligations are met or exceeded while maintaining alignment with the budget and business needs
  • Ensure monthly financial and key performance indicator (KPI) reports and results for the region and independent business units are analyzed and actioned
  • Assist the Business Manager with planning and implementing move-in/move-out procedures, such as overseeing or setting up furnishings in new housing units, and setting up or cancelling utilities
  • Assist with monitoring client finances (personal cash, expenditures, and reimbursements).
Qualifications

To take on the role of Residential Operations Manager, Specialized Community Services, you must:
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or diploma in a health or social sciences related field
  • Have at least 2 years of experience working directly with clients with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnosis
  • Have a track record of successful health care operations management and/or residential home management
  • Have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Combine conceptual thinking skills with a results orientation
  • Be committed to ensuring a positive client and family experience
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of personal accountability and be able to instill that in others
  • Be highly organized and able to function in a fast paced environment
  • Be highly skilled in interpersonal relations and communications.
  • Be self-motivated and adept at working autonomously while leading and motivating an engaged, dedicated team of staff
