We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team and enhance our supply chain efficiency.

As a Logistics Coordinator at Solar Power Store, you will play a pivotal role in managing the logistics operations essential to our business. You will collaborate closely with various departments to ensure the timely shipping and receiving of goods, oversee inventory management, and optimize transportation routes. Your efforts will be crucial in maintaining the flow of our renewable energy products, contributing to our operational excellence, and supporting our continued growth and success.

Work Location: Barrie Office

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am - 4pm

What you’ll do

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of shipping routes and delivery, specifically regarding customer satisfaction. As a logistics coordinator, you will plan, coordinate, and monitor logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation, and supply chain processes. The role involves a wide range of duties including:

  • Shipping and Receiving: Ensuring that goods are shipped and received on time, managing the order fulfillment process, and coordinating with warehouse staff.
  • Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels to ensure that they stay within acceptable limits, ordering supplies as needed, and managing inventory databases.
  • Supplier and Customer Interaction: Working with suppliers to coordinate deliveries and with customers to resolve shipping issues or complaints.
  • Transportation Oversight: Arranging transportation, planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Keeping accurate records of all transport and logistics activities, ensuring compliance with all regulations and laws related to logistics and shipping.
  • Cost Management: Negotiating and comparing costs for shipping and freight, and coordinating and tracking the movement of goods through logistic pathways.
  • Problem Resolution: Addressing and resolving any issues related to logistics, such as delays in delivery, accidents, or transportation failures.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seeking ways to optimize logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Communication: Liaising with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure operations run smoothly.
  • Technology Use: Utilizing logistics software or transport management systems to plan and track shipments.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
  • 3-5 years experience in logistics or a related field
  • Previous experience with shipments, customs paperwork, and bills of lading is mandatory
  • Proficiency with logistics software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to analyze data and understand supply chain processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with transportation, trade, and customs regulations.

Canadian candidates only. This position is required to work in our Barrie office.
