Purpose of the Role

As a Laboratory Chemist, you’ll use your extensive knowledge of chemical compounds, polymers, resins, and micro/nano particles. You will apply your hands-on experience with mixing equipment to prepare samples in the lab and use various analytical equipment such as rheometer, DSC, TGA, FTIR, etc. You will write technical reports and analyze your findings.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelors in chemistry, polymer chemistry, material science, or a related field.
  • You have 1-2 years experience working in wet labs, hands-on lab experience in preparing mixtures and sample preparation methods, and hands-on lab experience with analytical equipment such as Rheometer, DSC, TGA, FTIR, etc.
  • You have strong knowledge of chemicals, polymers, micro/nanoparticles, and materials interactions.
  • You have knowledge of rheology and flow behavior of polymeric mixtures (Newtonian, thixotropy, shear thinning, etc.).

What Success looks like in this role

  • You’ll prepare chemical formulations and mixtures by weighing ingredients and using mixing equipment.
  • You will induce reactions to chemical mixtures with light, energy, heat, and chemical catalysts.
  • You’ll determine the relationships of chemical and physical properties, composition, structures and reactions of organic and inorganic compounds.
  • You will conduct qualitative and quantitative experiments considering the interaction of compounds and chemical makeup, consult with engineers and scientists on analysis, interpretation and development of tests and develop nonstandard tests for chemical product.
  • You will write technical reports of the test results.
  • You’ll maintain lab equipment and troubleshoot or report on malfunctions and ensure compliance with laboratory health and safety guidelines.
