Canadian Utility Construction (CUC) is currently seeking a Fuser to join our Vancouver Island team in Nanaimo and Victoria due to recent growth. This critical position will be responsible for performing fusions on polyethylene pipe systems with live gas, while ensuring that customer requirements for the fusion procedures are followed precisely. In addition, this position is responsible for documenting reports associated with work carried out including field reports, work orders, and pressure test affidavits.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

• Technical training from a recognized institution and 2+ years of experience as a polyethylene fuser in the natural gas distribution industry
• Valid or expired Fusion ticket
• Experience and qualifications to include all aspects of polyethylene fusion, pressure testing, and live tie-ins
• A valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
• Effective verbal communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Strong belief in Live Safe
• First aid ticket (asset)

Salary: $30.37-$34.58 per hour

Experience:

• Polyethylene fusing in natural gas distribution industry: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
