Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Construction Site Superintendent to support projects in Ontario, Canada. This position will support the Environmental Construction Services group with projects related to environmental remediation/decommissioning. The position will require travel at a minimum of 90%. Due to travel component, this candidate could live in any surrounding areas in Ontario.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to-
  • Ensures health and safety is considered in the performance of all activities on the job and will comply with client H&S requirements
  • Plan and execute effective job kick off meetings, daily tailgate meetings and weekly safety meetings
  • Collect daily information on site and relay to the Project Manager and Operations Manager on a daily basis
  • Plan and execute projects at/or under budgeted costs
  • Communicate to management any changes in conditions and/or communications with the client from the field level
  • Interface with client onsite to complete project deliverables
  • Manage subcontractors on a daily basis and ensure compliance with health and safety and quality requirements
  • Read and understand project schedules, cost controls, sub-contractor scopes and able to manage them on a daily basis
  • Supervise all site activities
Experience in the following-
  • Soil/sediment remediation
  • Landfill construction
  • Earthwork and site development
  • Building decommissioning and demolition
  • Installation and maintenance of shoring systems
  • Trenching and mechanical piping projects
Key Attributes
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong approach to health and safety
Key Requirements-
  • Basics of Supervisor training
  • Strong knowledge in surveying, GPS (Trimble or TopCon)
  • Skilled at planning and executing heavy equipment operation and remedial construction
  • Previous construction management and construction oversight experience
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • 90% travel required minimum
Qualifications
Required Qualifications-
  • 10+ years construction experience
  • 8+ years’ experience in environmental remediation and/or heavy civil construction projects
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline
Preferred Qualifications-

  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate
