Job Type: Full-time
Location: 404 / Highway 7, Markham

Responsibilities :

  • Report the status of project to business and market leaders
  • Oversees all construction sites, general contractors, and workers to ensure a high level of compliance with building and safety regulations
  • Ensures that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emergencies
  • Review weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of all the contracts, including project costs and potential changes.
  • Organizing, planning, directing, controlling and evaluating construction project from conception t to completion according to schedules, specification, job scope, change order and budget
  • Hire, supervise and direct subcontractors and trades as needed
  • Prepare subcontracts and material purchase order
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
  • Performing, preparing and submitting construction project budget estimates
  • Planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitoring progress against established schedules
  • Preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
  • Controlling, monitor and review process of schedules, Request for Information and proposal, Change orders, invoices and material purchasing
  • Developing and implementing quality control programs
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on a timely manner
  • Representing company on matters such as business services and contracts negotiation
  • Preparing progress reports and issuing progress schedules to clients
  • Directing the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
  • Attend client program meetings and or site-visit as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years Canadian proven working experiences in residential construction management required
  • Bachelor’s or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management Architecture, Engineering or other related discipline required
  • Excellence English communication skills in verbal and written
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
  • Fast-paced environment
  • Ability to welcome feedback and use it to improve the quality of production
  • Ability to determine potential risks while devising proactive ways to solve them
  • Ability to lead a team by being a good and effective communicator
  • Ability and knowledge of blueprints and read drawings
  • Excellent organizational, time and project management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management process, means and methods
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellence in planning how each process should be done, how resource are to be acquired, and when the project should be completed
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organization by ensuring daily job allocation
  • Excellence in building rapport and creating a team environment where all those with project responsibilities work well together
  • Familiar and excellence in using Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Sketch up and Revit software required
