Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) one of the world’s premier sports and entertainment companies, owns the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL), Toronto Raptors (NBA), Toronto FC (MLS), Toronto Argonauts (CFL), Toronto Marlies (AHL), Raptors 905 (NBA D-League), TFC II (USL) and Raptors Uprising Gaming Club, the Toronto Raptors Esports franchise in the NBA 2K League. Its charitable arm, MLSE Foundation, focuses on funding initiatives to support youth through sport and recreational programs. Job Description


Team Overview:

Our VIP Hospitality Experience & Commercialization team strives to create consistent and personalized best in class league experiences for our most Premium clients. Our VIP Hospitality Experience & Commercialization team is within our Ticketing Department at MLSE and is one of the highest grossing revenue departments across the NHL, NBA, MLS and CFL. You will work side by side with experienced and knowledgeable Hospitality & Sports Professionals that have been in the business for 10+ years.

The Role:

Reporting to the VIP Experience and Hospitality Director, the VIP Hospitality Experience and Commercialization Intern will have the unique opportunity to support the team on a day-to-day basis with a wide range of initiatives and have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience across (7) Brands (TML, TR, TFC, ARGOS, LIVE, Marlies, Raps905) and (4) Different venues – (SBA, BMO, Bud Stage, CCC).

MLSE’s Internship term dates are from May 9th, 2022 – September 2nd, 2022.

Responsibilities:

  • Support with strategic planning of experiences to support retention strategies, generate new revenue streams and deliver exceptional member experiences
  • Execute extensive research of VIP Hospitality, VIP engagement and innovative solution best practices across leagues to inform future membership services & retention strategies
  • Support data cleanse initiatives to maintain data integrity on our VIP & Premium Membership bases
  • Support the Commercialization Team on new product and program initiatives including the development of creative assets, project plans, schedules, and offerings
  • Assist with building visual storytelling presentation materials to support all VIP Hospitality & Commercialization initiatives
  • Adhere to all MLSE standards and policies
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a University or College degree, diploma or certificate in sports, events, marketing, public relations, or related field.
  • A proactive approach toward day-to-day activities and shifting demands, demonstrating a high level of initiative, independence, and attention to detail
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Available for TML, TR, TFC, ARGOS, Marlies, Raps905 and LIVE home games and special events, including evenings & weekends
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to be always a team player
  • Strong leadership skills and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communicator that can clearly convey information
  • Self-motivated, detailed and organized
  • Excellent time management skills and able to meet multiple deadlines
  • Always maintain confidentiality and a high level of professionalism
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook an asset
