Overview:
The role of Associate Coordinator, Tax is to ensure PBC meets its sales tax obligations and trade compliance. Success in this role will require strong data analysis, solid critical thinking skills and demonstrate a results-driven behavior. This is an interesting role for the right candidate as it provides the opportunity to develop high-level knowledge of PBC Supply Chain and PBC tax structure.
Responsibilities:
  • Support A/P and VISA sales tax review to ensure accurate PST accrual, ITC/ITR claimed, and restrictions reported
  • Sales tax preparation and filings within mandated deadlines
  • Sales tax and customs payment processing
  • Prepare period end journal entries for customs and sales tax adjustments
  • Review misc. invoices for sales tax compliance
  • Respond to sales tax and customs inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in sales tax and customs duty recoveries
  • Support sales tax and customs audits
  • Assist annual non-resident tax returns
Qualifications:
  • University/College degree or certificate in a related Accounting or Finance program
  • Strong analytical skills and strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong Excel and computer skills; knowledge of SAP an asset
  • Previous tax and auditing experience and training would be an asset
