Reporting to the Manager of Talk & Talent, you must be a passionate and creative team player with a strong knowledge and interest in sports, and an expertise in CFL Football. In this role, you will host and produced a highly researched and entertaining Winnipeg Blue Bomber Football pregame, play by play, and postgame shows.

You’ll provide compelling and thorough play by play during Winnipeg Blue Bomber games, and you will be responsible for building strong relationships with the Winnipeg Football Club, its players, coaches and management.

This key role requires you to host and produce other features, programming and web content related to Winnipeg Blue Bomber football as well as to other sports and leagues.
The successful candidate will be curious about the opinions and views of others, providing a comfortable place for listeners to turn to each day.

This position requires you to enjoy working with a dynamic team of people committed to serving the community with information and conversation.

Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
The following is a paraphrase of the primary functions, but does not outline all of the duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to this position:

• Host and Produce Winnipeg Blue Bomber Football Pregame, Play by Play, and Post game shows for all preseason, Regular Season and Playoff games
• Attend Blue Bomber Training camp, Practices, and media events
• Build and maintain a positive relationship with the Winnipeg Football Club, leadership, Management, Coaches and Players
• Host and produce additional short form and long form programming related to but not limited to Blue Bomber Football coverage
• Produce sports content on digital platforms including but not limited to podcasts, cjob.com and the Global news app.
• Working with Corus travel agent, plan and coordinate all travel related to Football coverage
• Represent Corus at public events and functions
• Be open to reasonable endorsement opportunities tied to Corus advertising agreements
• Frequently write original content for online, be available for insight and analysis for Global News (Television and Streams) as needed
• Fill in host for Jets @ Noon, CJOB Sports show, day side talk programming
• Fill in morning sports anchor

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Proven ability to deliver high quality Football Play by Play that transmits not just the action of the game but also the energy and excitement
• In-depth knowledge of the Canadian Football League
• Compelling story-teller with an appreciation for the human interest side of sports stories
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working at a major market Talk radio station
• Strong communication skills with a proven ability to connect to the audience
• Possess a positive, can-do attitude
• Expertise in audio editing preferred

• Valid Driver’s License
