Job Description

Fortinet is looking for talented new Big Data Software Developers for the Burnaby, Canada office!

Responsibilities

• Design and implement various aspects of distributed log ingestion and analytics
• Tuning and improve product performance and stability
• Work closely with other developers, QA
• Participate in functional spec, design, and code reviews
• Learn and keep up with new progress in the big data analytics
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong Java programming experience with an understanding of the broader ecosystem.
• Experience with frameworks like Spring(boot).
• Strong SQL composition skills and understanding of database systems
• Development experience with Linux/Unix environments.
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and OOAD
• Strong problem-solving skills
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with distributed and high-scalable systems
• Experience with running container applications (Docker) and container orchestration systems (e.g. Kubernetes, ECS) is a strong plus
• Experience with or knowledge of Big Data technologies (e.g. Spark, Kafka)
• Experience with network security
