The Ministry of Health, Supply Chain Modernization Branch is looking for a dynamic and dedicated individual with excellent leadership, research, analysis and development skills to join a fast paced, high-performing team that is results focused and remains positive in the face of new and evolving challenges. The position will require the ability to develop supply chain policies, programs, standards, regulations and/or legislation to support the Supply Chain Modernization Branch (SCMB) mandate. This is a high-volume, fast-paced role that requires a variety of well-developed skillsets in several areas.

About The Branch
The Supply Chain Modernization Branch (SCMB) is responsible for leading the design and implementation of an integrated, patient-focused supply chain for health care products and services. The branch conducts strategic policy development, stakeholder engagement, communications and operations, and inter-governmental coordination. SCMB also acts as a single window access point for all health sector supply chain related inquiries, creating opportunities for the public and private sectors to provide input into the health sector supply chain transformation.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
  • provide leadership and expertise in the research, analysis and development of strategies, policies, programs,
standards, regulations and/or legislation to support the Supply Chain Modernization Branch (SCMB) mandate to modernize and transform the health sector supply chain in Ontario.
  • develop and coordinate opportunities that support supply chain modernization and transformation in the province.


How do I qualify?

Health Ecosystem Knowledge

  • You have demonstrated knowledge of broad socio-economic issues impacting provincial health care and relevant legislation.
  • You have knowledge of provincial and ministry strategic directions pertaining to the health sector supply chain management in the province.
  • You have knowledge of the models of health care delivery, funding, governance and related critical issues, to ensure that ministry and government objectives are considered in the development of policy and program design submissions.


Decision and Policy and Program Knowledge

  • You have knowledge of decision-making and accountability framework of the provincial government and the legislative approvals and allocations processes to lead development of policy and program options and initiatives.
  • You have knowledge of policy development principles and processes to provide effective research support to the policy development cycle.


Project Management and Research Skills

  • You have demonstrated knowledge of project management techniques and principles to plan and manage options and impacts of policy review and development processes.
  • You can effectively complete project deliverables from initial concept through completion ensuing timelines are met.
  • You have knowledge of research principles, techniques and quantitative/qualitative methodologies to design, conceptualize and manage inter-jurisdictional research projects, studies, surveys, trends analyses and environmental assessments.


Consultation and Facilitation Skills

  • You can create and maintain partnerships with partner ministry and inter-jurisdictional policy stakeholders to improve horizontal alignment of strategic objectives, facilitate consultations and coordinate tendering and contracts.


Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • You can respond to issues, provide recommendations and prepare reports using standard office programs and tools.
  • You can create, lead and present briefings on complex issues analysis such as briefing notes, Cabinet submissions, options papers and reports.
