Senior Human Resources Advisor, Private Client Group Branches

How does the role impact the organization?

Reporting functionally to the Senior HR Business Partner, Private Client Group and working collaboratively with other HR and Centres of Expertise (CoE) partners, you will be responsible for supporting the alignment of business objectives with senior leaders, managers and associates across Canada as a trusted advisor. You will have the opportunity to influence the development of the HR strategic plan and participate in driving key HR initiatives nationally beyond and within your client groups. The successful candidate will also be a member of the HR Management Team in support of his/her continued growth and development.

What will your role be responsible for?

  • Provide sound and timely advice to employees and managers of assigned client groups in the areas of employee relations, performance management, reward and issue resolution;
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partner Team and HR Centers of Expertise to proactively support national HR initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Provide guidance with respect to employment standards and/or legal concepts in conjunction with Legal Counsel;
  • Collaborate with the recruiting team on strategies as applicable to assigned client teams such as campus, diversity, immigration and competencies and coach managers on talent pipeline management;
  • Advise people leaders in the administration and implementation of policies and programs, and ensure alignment with established guidelines;
  • Conduct coaching, interview or other evaluations as needed to support both the corporate culture, and development of individuals;
  • Contribute to projects, health & safety, pay equity or compensation reviews, job levelling, employee engagement or other strategic priorities;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
:
  • Degree or diploma with specialization in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or Social Sciences;
  • 3-5 years of related HR advisory/employee relations or branch administration experience, in the financial services industry or in similar fast paced business environment;
  • Knowledge of Canadian provincial employment legislation;
  • Experience managing ER cases, including performance management, workplace accommodation, disability management, etc.
  • Proficient in talent development strategies and employee development plans.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative and practical solutions.

Capabilities that would be considered an asset:

  • A professional designation as either a CPHR or Coaching credentials
  • Bilingual French and English
  • Investigation training
  • Experience in the financial service industry
  • Experience in branch administration or branch operations
  • Broader experiences and interest in HR

Travel

  • Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
