We’re looking for enthusiastic team players to be part of the buzz at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts! As a Recreation Clerk 2, you will be front-facing and doing clerical and allotment work, as well as organizing office support services in a cultural facility. You’ll use your superior people skills to supervise and assist in the work of one or more subordinates engaged in clerical and cashiering tasks; verify and record cash receipts; answer questions with patience and professionalism related to facility programs, rules and regulations; and prepare and maintain various records and files. This position requires being independent and empathetic; develop, revise and apply new work methods and procedures; provide information and assistance regarding facility allotments, allotments fees and terms of rental contracts; referring unusual or complex matters to a supervisor who reviews work performances in agreement with established procedures and effectiveness of services provided; and performs related work as required.

To qualify, you’ll need to have completed Grade 12 including or supplemented by commercial, and word processing courses; sound related office and cash handling experience including some supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You’ll need considerable knowledge of departmental policies, practices, rules, and regulations (e.g. allotment bookings, cash handling) related to the work performed. Additionally, the successful applicant must be able to demonstrate and have sound experience with Microsoft Software (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook), CLASS Registration and CLASS 2 Allotment software programs. This position requires self-motivation and superior communication skills and the ability to work independently. Have sound knowledge of business English, spelling, arithmetic and punctuation. You’ll need sound knowledge of the needs of various community groups and individuals as they relate to cultural facilities. Have the ability to organize and monitor office support services in a cultural facility, and be skilled in computer applications and typing accurately. Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia may be required for some positions.

Must have the availability to work scheduled and on-call shifts in the evenings, weekends and holidays. Available hours: Monday – Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
