Weldco Heavy Industries (WHI) is a large steel fabrication and repair facility located in the Fort MacKay Caribou Energy Park. Strategically positioned in the heart if Alberta’s Oil Sands, WHI is able to effectively meet the requirements for large steel repair, assembly and refurbishment in the industry.

Weldco Heavy Industries is currently recruiting a Quality Control Supervisorfor the Fort MacKay location, on a Monday-Friday schedule, 8-hour days.

Reporting to the General Manager, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Oversee the company Quality Control Program, through recommending, planning, developing, and establishing objectives
  • Monitor quality control inspection protocol to ensure that all standards are met or exceeded
  • Develop policies and procedures to enhance the inspection process
  • Maintain non-conformance report (NCR) program
  • Ensure rigorous quality assurance standards are adhered to
  • Prepare and conduct walk through inspections with customers and relevant departments
  • Compile and generate reports and other forms of communication to distribute to customers and relevant departments
  • Accurately update the Company’s Welder’s log
  • Facilitate project kick off meetings
  • Organize and accurately input internal and project documentation
  • Continuous product improvement through working with all departments to deal with product deficiencies to ensure product is improved
  • Collaborate with all departments to minimize the need for rework, by resolving problems, and recommending work measures to improve productivity
  • Conduct data analysis, interpretation, and reporting in order to make recommendations for improvement
  • Investigate and respond to product quality complaints, and develop procedures that effectively improve productivity and quality
  • Provide an exceptional customer service, respond expeditiously to customer requests pertaining to quality control related issues from employees/quality control technicians/management
  • Work collaboratively with the Account Manager to develop estimates as required
  • Performs other duties as required
Your qualifications:
  • Engineering Background
  • CWB Supervisor Ticket
  • CWB Inspector
  • A minimum of 5 years of Quality Control experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of industry & products, quality management and continuous improvement processes
  • Aerial Work Platform & Fall Protection certification is preferred
