National Assortment Analyst

Reporting to the Product Manager, Tires and Wheels, the National Assortment Analyst works with the buying team, providing analytical support to decision making regarding product assortment for our stores and product pricing. Assortment and Pricing recommendations will be based on market knowledge, data analysis and vendor collaboration. This will ensure that Canadian Tire has the right products, in the right place, at the right price.

The Analyst will also be responsible for executing on CTC’s Tire testing program, which enables us to provide objective test data on our tires, to allow our customers to make informed decisions about which tires are best for them.

What you’ll do

• Analysis of market trends, national and regional sales and vehicle data, to identify key products and make recommendations on changes to the assortment that will help ensure we are meeting our customers’ needs every day. National Assortment and Store level assortment recommendations are updated regularly through Line Reviews to ensure each Store is optimally stocking tires that contribute to sales growth.
• Maintenance and continuous improvement of Pricing Strategies and Price modeling to ensure we are priced competitively in the marketplace. The Analyst will provide insights into how Pricing may be impacting results and make recommendations on Pricing Strategy and tactical price changes in season.
• Lead the execution of our Tire Testing program to support assortment decision making, publishing of Road Rated test scores and providing insights into performance characteristics of various tires.

What you bring

• Post secondary education or equivalent in work experience
• Working knowledge of the automotive aftermarket industry and products in Tires and Wheels
• Knowledge of category management processes and line review/assortment building processes
• Exposure to Forecasting/Supply Chain processes
• Strong analytical skills, detail orientation and problem-solving skills
• Experience with mathematical modeling and statistical analysis
• Strong computer skills in MS Access and Excel
• Familiarity with Knime, R, Python or VBA and SQL knowledge a plus
