Reporting to the Director, Medical Administration, this position will provide support to Providence Care-based

investigators, research staff, students, and trainees on study-specific queries and will help to lead, develop and

implement educational programs to support the expansion of hospital-based research. The position will help to increase

the research profile through the coordination of visioning sessions with internal and external partners, events, and

content creation for a research website. This position will provide hospital administrative support for the Queen’s TRAQ
portal, NIH’s clinical trial registry portal, and CITI Canada’s training portal for researchers across all disciplines and roles
at the hospital. Other platforms may also be accessed in this supportive role. This position will lead the day-to-day

operations of the Research department located at PCH, with a focus on increasing the interdisciplinary research

footprint in Kingston and nationally.

Role Responsibilities 

Build recommendations toward a research vision, success measures and strategy that increases interdisciplinary
research activity at Providence Care. This includes collaborating with researchers in Community programming,
Long Term Care and in hospital. 

Provide support and advice to investigators, research staff, students and trainees on study-specific queries
related to clinical research and clinical trials for hospital-based research. 

Support primary investigators and oversee the identification, application and submissions of research grants 
Assist investigators, research staff, students and trainees to liaison with other departments/units and staff

members within Providence Care and regional partners such as KHSC and Queen’s. 
Lead the planning and implementation of programs of education and training (includes providing assistance in the

development of materials) for investigators, research staff, students and trainees. Helps to train investigators,
research staff, students and trainees.

Required Qualifications and Experience: 

Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Life Sciences, Kinesiology or related field. Candidates with equivalent
combination of education and experience in a research setting will also be considered. 

3 years’ experience working in a clinical research and/or research administration environment and knowledge of
research policies, practices and procedures, including privacy, regulatory requirements, and research ethics. 

2 years of experience in a progressively responsible position leading initiatives or a team in a clinical research,
research administration, university and/or hospital setting
