Maintenance Planner – Instrumentation

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner – Instrumentationto ensure all required maintenance activities are planned and scheduled in a manner that maximizes the efficiency of the assigned maintenance crews. This role will ensure the reliability of the operational equipment. The area of responsibility for this position is Labrador City, primarily in Processing Operations.

Reporting to the Superintendent Asset Management – Energy and Site General Services, you will be:

  • Ensuring safety needs are given a top priority in work planning.
  • Ensure critical risks are identified in the planning process with appropriate controls accounted for so the work can be performed safely and effectively.
  • Engaging regularly with the maintenance execution team, fostering the team atmosphere.
  • Improving productivity of people, equipment and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles to efficient work execution.
  • Providing KPI data showing maintenance performance to the maintenance department and recommending system and design changes to drive improvements.
  • Applying Asset Management best practices.
  • Managing of repairable items and track them until they return to site.
  • Lead the area team in Asset Management key principles, such as Defect Elimination, business improvement projects, RCM, and PMO review activities related to the area of responsibility.

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Journeyperson Trade Certificate or Technical Diploma or Engineering B.Sc. Preferred Mechanical or Electrical
  • Demonstrated in depth planning and scheduling knowledge using a CMMS system – (SAP preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar industrial setting, mining, processing, manufacturing or related setting
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Maintenance work management processes
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

It will also be beneficial if you have:

  • Previous direct supervision experience
  • Background in instrumented systems
  • Microsoft Project
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training
