POSITION SUMMARY

Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

The Office of the Clerk is seeking a motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual for the auxiliary full-time position of Administrative Assistant (Co-op).

Reporting to the Executive Operations Coordinator and working in close collaboration with all colleagues in the Office of the Clerk, the Administrative Assistant (Co-op) provides administrative, logistical, and research services within the Office of the Clerk in support of departmental and organizational initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be/have:

  • Enrolled in or completing a post-secondary education process in a field such as office administration, business administration, public administration, political science, or other social sciences or humanities disciplines, experience using computers and business software applications such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience providing administrative and/or logistical support for events and meetings.
  • Experience in conducting research and preparing written materials based on the research


Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • Experience working in an office environment.
  • Experience working in a customer service role.
