The Basic Gist:

We’re not your traditional Mexican place. We just happen to think that tacos are a dish best-served fun, with a side of liquor. Welcome to The Mule, where tacos, tequila & bourbon come to party.

We are Hamilton’s favourite lunch spot, regular late-night haunt, and go-to destination for a great bite & drink. Our tacos range from classic Mexican to weird-and-wild-you’ve-gotta-try-this.

All of our food is 100% gluten-free and we offer a variety of fare that is sure to satisfy either the most dedicated carnivore or delight your vegetarian and/or vegan side.

What’s An “Other Bird”?

The Other Bird is a hospitality family that currently includes The Mule and Rapscallion & Co.(Hamilton, ON), Burro(Burlington, ON), Hunter & Co.(London, ON), and the boutique Arlington Hotel & Dominion Telegraph Event Centre(Paris, ON).

We are a young, growing, and fun-loving company that believes in providing amazing culinary and service experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Working all line positions, in a competent and confident manner
• Cohesively working with current BOH team
• Performing all assigned duties as required, including prep responsibilities, deep clean requirements, etc.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times
• Maintaining a positive and committed “Do Whatever It Takes” attitude
• Receiving direction from The Mule’s BOH management team.

What we are looking for:

• 1+ years work experience in restaurant kitchens is required.
• Previous work experience as restuarant Line Cook will be an asset.
• Late Night availability (we are open until 2AM everyday of the week) is required.
• Weekend availability (Saturday & Sunday) is required.
• Valid Food Handler’s Certification will be an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Salary: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
The Mule is actively enforcing a strict COVID-19 Vaccination Policy where all staff are required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination with a QR code certificate or agree to ongoing, twice per week rapid antigen testing.
