POSITION: Graphic Content Specialist (Graphic Designer)

About The Position

As a vital member of the Marketing Team, the Graphic Content Specialist is a creative, curious, exceptionally organized, and deadline-oriented professional. A champion of brand identity, the successful incumbent will collaborate with the Marketing Team to bring IHL’s marketing strategy to life.

A strong communicator, the Graphic Content Specialist will craft targeted and impactful graphic design pieces that "tell a story" By leveraging a variety of design streams, with emphasis in packaging, digital assets and retail signage. As a true specialist, I will be required to utilize several graphic applications, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Lightroom.

Responsibilities:

The Graphic Content Specialist key responsibilities are:

The promotion and generation of new engaging graphic content aligned with our brand objectives.

The management of the full lifecycle of graphic production - from conceptualization to print or publish.

The development of packaging for new products and the corresponding communication specifications.

The collection of documentation to begin packaging development and ensure deadlines are met.

Proof, organize, and facilitate approval for all packaging-related projects.

Monitor compliance with current Canadian packaging regulations.

To perform quality control on all assets and collateral, ensuring brand compliance, consistency, and accurate copywriting.

Maintain an up-to-date library with all current graphic collateral and packaging.

Coordinate packaging swap-outs/updates and upgrades.

Audit existing graphic content and incorporate industry best practices and standards through thorough research.

Maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, vendors.

Experience:

Demonstrated experience in graphic, multimedia, and industrial design.

Strong CPG packaging knowledge and demonstrated expertise in leading packaging projects from conception to completion.

Technical print knowledge and experience in press proofing.

Successful completion of a relevant post-secondary degree or certification (significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education, including Graphic, Multimedia, and Industrial Design, as well as Digital Media).

Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with clients to discuss project needs and options, to provide analysis, and to interpret requirements from a design perspective.

Expert level with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, as well as motion and animation.

Experience in video editing, photography, and HTML/CSS, UX/UI, an asset.

Interpersonal Skills & Abilities:

Strong English written and oral communication skills

Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

Excellent time management and organizational skills in managing multiple priorities with overlapping tasks across multiple locations.
