Our institution, The Education Academy (T.E.A.) is a non-for-profit organization, dedicating in providing afterschool academic courses, tutoring services and culturally-enriching educational activities to children from kindergarten to grade 8. The summer job position is sponsored by Service Canada-Summer Job Grant, candidates who enrol in post-secondary institutions is eligible to this opportunity.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Lead, organize and coordinate sports activities and events for youth with different age groups: age 5-14

• Assist Camp manager and event coordinator in program administrative operation;

Terms of Employment: 2 vacancies, full-time July 4-August 19, 2022

Salary:$16-17 Hourly for 8 weeks

Requirements:

Education:Current university or college students, Undergraduate or graduate

Credentials: First Aid Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate

Experience: Leadership experience in sports camp definitely an asset

Languages: English, French is preferred

Activity Focus:Leading/instructing individuals, Leading/instructing groups, Patrolling/supervising activities

Specific Skills:

• Demonstrate and instruct dance, arts, athletic, fitness or sports activities and techniques,

• Plan and instruct groups and individuals in dance/sports/art activities in gym and playground

• Lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs,

• Plan and carry out recreational activities,

• Enforce safety rules and regulations,

• Understand principles of group dynamics,

Additional Skills:

• Provide emergency or first aid assistance,

• Ensure safety of rescuers and victims at accident scenes,

• Assist with special events, Prepare reports,

• Train and supervise staff,

• Keep logs and maintain records

Security and Safety:Basic security clearance

Ability to Supervise: 3-4 staffs
