We’re looking for proven Digital Transformation Solution Engineers who have deep Technical Knowledge and can develop Solution illustrating the integration points from Rockwell’s Core products to partner products (PTC suite for example), newly acquired products, or tailored solutions that support customer use cases (Edge to IoT to User Consumption). TheDtX Smart Machines Solution Engineer is one of the concentrations in this pool of expert engineers.

All of the Digital Transformation Solution Engineers are key contributors to the Americas Global Sales & Marketing (GSM). This role reports to one of the Digital Transformation Technical Managers (dependent upon related concentration) within North America and may work any place in the continental United States or Canada.

Day-to-Day

DtX Smart Machines Solution Engineers are expected to have deep knowledge in Industrial Computers & Monitors, Industrial Control Products, Input/Output Modules, Motion Control, Motor Control, Network Security & Protocols, and Power Supplies. Knowledge should include Circuit & Load Protection, Condition Monitoring, Connection Devices, Distributed Control Systems, Driver & Motors, Energy Monitoring, Independent Cart Technology, Programmable Controllers, Push Buttons & Signaling Devices, Relays & Timers, Sensors & Switches, Safety Products, and Signal Interfaces.

The DtX Smart Machines Solution Engineer looks at integrating the data from these sources to varying systems, such as MES, IIoT Platforms, Gateways, Smart Systems, Design Tools, Simulators, Analytics, Predictive Controllers, Historians, and Custom Databases. Solutioning the integration points is the key.

DtX Smart Machines Solution Engineers are also required to understand how the Users of the system might interact with the data through rich User Interfaces and Dashboards, published to a plethora of Devices (Desktop, Human Machine Interfaces, Handheld, Wearables, and Immersive).

The DtX Smart Machines Solution Engineer is a technical leader capable of driving internal and external customer knowledge growth. The DtX Smart Machines Solution Engineer is an integral part of the DtX Center of Excellence and is passionate and driven by cutting-edge technology.

Your Impact

• You will help companies in their digital transformation and actively consults with the sales team on strategic opportunities—Frequently influencing the decision-making process.
• You will create innovative solutions, applications & processes for Rockwell Core Tools, Partner Tools, and Acquired Tools.
• You will be recognized as a SME (subject-matter-expert) by our customers.
• You will work with the DTX Business Team to Build Solutions centered around Repeatable Patterns across industries (possessing advanced understanding of industries and standards) where you can influence and guide customers.
• You will provide advanced knowledge of applications within one or more of the OEM segments and possess the ability to specify and scope an OEM’s application (including identifying techniques, and requirements).
• You will deliver Connected Offerings & Architecture Proof of Concepts to our customers centered around Smart Machines (well-connected assets, Discrete Digital Thread, and OEM), developing and improving tools, templates, and innovative technical solutions.
• You will contribute to demonstrative “Art of the Possible” experiences, so that customers can witness the value they can achieve as their personal Digital Transformation matures.
• You will be utilized across the Center of Excellence, peers and applicable business units as a source of product application and industry knowledge.
• You will collaborate with external teams to proposes long term technical/commercial plans to resolve technical/commercial issues and participate in standards discussion across the Ecosystem.
• You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to teach/demonstrate how to develop hardware/software solutions and provide technical instruction to internal and external customers—Frequently and proactively networking and collaborating with key internal/external decision-makers beyond the context of OEM & End-user engagements.
• You will provide technical guidance on the application of products within the context of complex applications and may teach/present technical sessions at premier Rockwell Automation or customer training events.

• You will be an integral member of our Digital Transformation Center of Excellence solution engineering team.
• We will support the Account Managers in qualifying potential opportunities with current customers and prospects.
• This is a team of subject-matter-experts, application & solution engineers who are passionate about Solution Architecture and who have a strong focus on architecting & designing value added solutions for our clients and prospects.
• Your Expertise will center-around, but shall not be limited to, Smart Machines as a primary focus. Secondary focus will include integrating to IoT Platforms and Advanced UIs.
• As a Team, we will achieve Higher levels of Integration. We will leverage one another’s micro-solutions to build a true Digital Thread.
• We will Constantly Collaborate, working with many Rockwell Work Streams to strengthen the Ecosystem.
• We will be the Industry Experts in several fields Automotive, Semiconductor, Warehousing & E-Commerce, Printing & Publishing, Marine, Glass, Fiber & Textiles, Airports, Aerospace, and other discrete manufacturing.
• This high-level technically skilled team is multicultural, energetic and results oriented.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
