KW Habilitation is a local not-for-profit organization that provides a wide range of individualized services and supports to children with any special need and adults with developmental disabilities. We support individuals to live a fulfilling life which is fostered through preschool and early learning supports, respite services, residential services, community participation and employment supports. Communications and Fund Development Coordinator
LOCATION: Kitchener, ON.

The Communications and Fund Development Coordinator will involve collaborating with the Communication Coordinator providing support in all services provided within the context of the mission, values and policies and procedures of KW Habilitation. In addition the Communications and Fund Development Coordinator will provide support in; development and implementation of internal and external communication and fundraising strategies; website content management; develop communication plans for programs and projects; development and execution of new and existing fundraising events; promote organizational goals, solicit donations or sponsorships; development of fundraising strategies, donor databases and campaigns; and other related duties as assigned.


The compensation provided to a Complex Care Professional reflects the need for increased knowledge, skills, and abilities to be successful in the position

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in communications, fundraising or related field
  • Proficiency with Computer Skills using software such as Microsoft Office, publishing software, WordPress, andsocial media (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc.)
  • Ability to read, interpret and summarize newsletters, journals, manuals, reports and legislation
  • Communication and presentation skills to respond to inquiries and requests
  • Analytical, research, organizational skills; the ability to work independently, on a team, completing projectsbeing creative and detail oriented
  • Ability to travel to locations within and occasionally outside the Waterloo Region
  • Ability to track and update statistics and analytics related to fundraising and communications
  • Project management skills
  • Photography and Video editing skills an asset
  • Current Standard First Aid an asset

Schedule: 40 hours per week (some flexibility required)
