The work schedule for this position is:

Duties

The Assistant CLO supports the CLO Coordinator in their efforts to promote the well-being of American members of the US Consulate community and to carry out the CLO’s eight primary areas of responsibilities which include: welcoming and orientation, community liaison, events planning, education liaison, employment liaison, information and resource management, guidance and referral, crisis management and security liaison. In the absence of the CLO Coordinator, the Assistant CLO will use judgment to make decisions regarding inquiries on EFM employment, crisis management and security, education, information and resource management, guidance and referral, community liaison, event planning, and welcome and orientation.


Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years of office and customer experience required. Excellent interpersonal public relations skills, good management and organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality required. Must enjoy working with and assisting people.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must know how to organize events, how to do basic desktop publishing and how to prioritize and manage many tasks simultaneously.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Level 4 (Fluent) of English Speaking/Reading/Writing required. This may be tested.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to prepare orientation and other written information or guidance. Basic administrative skills, including use of Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of online design programs, Canva and Postermywall are encouraged.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Canada may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.
