The Board of Directors of the Nutrien Civic Centre has identified the need to recruit for the vacant position of Business Manager. The Centre is seeking a motivated individual with a combination of experience and education to support the Board in the day to day operations of the centre and the implementation of the strategic plan.

We are looking for an energetic leader who;

Responsibilities
- Business Planning– The Business Manager will develop an annual budget and business plan and present it to the Board for approval. The successful candidate will analyze current processes and find ways to reduce costs, improve workflows and organizational practices.
- Marketing Plan – The Business Manager will work with the Board to develop an annual marketing and communication plan that has measurable outcomes which result in increased participation and revenue for the Centre. In addition, the plan will include a strategy for continuing to build relationships and corporate partnerships within community with a focus on increasing memberships and corporate sponsorships (fundraising, membership drives, sponsorships, etc.)
- Financial Management and Reporting – The Business Manager, under the general direction of the Treasurer, is responsible for proactively taking the steps to establish a timely and accurate reporting process that focuses on accountability and meeting financial targets. The successful candidate will have responsibilities related to managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll.
- Maintains and Builds Effective Relationships - The Business Manager has the keen ability to build and manage meaningful relationships within, across and outside the organization by consistently displaying excellent interpersonal and social skills. The Business Manager allocates time and efforts building relationships by understanding and meeting the needs of internal or external customers including funding partners, the board, customers, sponsors, and the community at large.
- Demonstrates Authentic Leadership - The Business Manager is a superb and visible team leader and consensus builder who is prepared to roll up his/her sleeves. The successful candidate will articulate the mission and vision to members and staff and develop a strong sense of common purpose in the organization, while fostering a climate of innovation and positivity. The right individual can make tough decisions, is politically savvy and is an excellent communicator.
Qualifications
 A bachelor’s degree, college diploma, and/or equivalent experience in a related field.
 Proficient use of technology is essential, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Social Media, etc.
 Experience with QuickBooks Online would be an asset.
