Altus Group is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to work on a hybrid model out of any of our Canadian offices supporting our Property Tax and Business Analytics team.

The role of a Business Intelligence Analyst is to provide intelligence from data / reporting to make faster and more effective decisions that drive business outcomes. Working alongside the Business Analytics team you will assume responsibility for the production, maintenance and support of a suite of operational / financial dashboards and management reports for the Canadian practice.

Specific Responsibilities

• Applying SQL, SSRS, Tableau, etc. experience to translate business requests into professional reports.
• Collaborating with Canadian leaders and Business Intelligence resources to develop best practices and promotion of a data culture.
• Educating and training team members on the use of reporting and data import / export tools.
• Seeking out opportunities to automate and scale data practices.
  

Responsibilities

• Develop new analytics, algorithms, and predictive models to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation
• Enduring curiosity to identify patterns in data and how they relate to the outcomes in Altus’s Tax Business. Drive core insights from data to suggest, create and execute multivariate or a/b tests that drive fundamental improvements.
• Maintain and develop new approaches to automate internal and external data retrieval, client reporting and operational process. Interface with cross-functional teams to build centralized/custom data analytics tools to enhance the business process.
• Own and develop queries and data visualizations for ad-hoc, recurring, troubleshooting requests and projects. Create exploratory data analysis, reports, dashboards to surface data for different stakeholders.
• Provide recommendations on new data sources to enhance the current data sets. Partner with Data Engineers and Software Engineers to improve the Extract, Transfer, Load (ETL) data pipeline process, design products and systems to transform and store millions of data.
• Data Governance. Support and continue to develop and enhance data governance operations.
• Keep learning, brainstorming, and exploring new tools and technology that maybe beneficial to the business, engage stakeholders, and build a Data Science/Analytics team.
  

Experience Required

• BS/BA in Statistics, Economics, Math, Computer Science, Marketing or applicable experience
• 2-5 years of experience in an analytics-based role
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office 365 and more specifically, Microsoft Excel or Power BI
• Experience working with Salesforce, Deltek, or other BI, CRM and ERP software
• Proficiency with data querying and modelling technique with SQL or R or Python
• Experience with machine learning (supervise and unsupervised)
• Strong grasp of data visualization concepts and automated report tools (Tableau & Power BI)
• The ability to quickly analyze, understand and interpret business requirements
• Proven ability to self-check work to ensure results are error-free
• Strong understanding of business drivers and KPIs
• Commercial real estate (CRE) experience (preferred)
