Overview of the opportunity

The Employee Relations Services team is a Center of Excellence within the National Human Resources team. The team’s mandate is to partner with the business to ensure a fair and consistent approach to employment legislation requirements, KPMG’s policies and procedures whilst managing risks to the Firm. This mandate is met by:

  • Acting as trusted advisors to people managers and HR Consultants / HR Business Partners in consultation with other subject matter experts across the Firm
  • Providing pragmatic solutions to a variety of complex sensitive employee matters
  • Recommending business options based on comprehensive risk assessments of relevant background information
What you will do:
  • Applies general HR knowledge and judgment to manage non-complex ER cases as part of the employment lifecycle such as, rehire eligibility reviews, review of identified hiring flags, health and safety (including COVID case tracking and reporting), and non-standard letters, coordinating the annual overtime process, research, project work, and invoice processing.
  • Partnering with other members of the team to support preparing the documentation for involuntary departures including involuntary departure costing estimates
  • Intake of workplace injury incidents, and completion of necessary documentation, and submission of required insurance forms
  • Create and update Knowledge Base articles (ServiceNow) tools/templates and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ongoing development to obtain knowledge about legislative changes and trends in employment practices and applies this knowledge in their case management is required
What you bring to this role:
  • University degree in a related field, preferable Human Resources
  • CHRP in good standing and working towards CHRL designation
  • 3 years’ experience working in the area of Human Resources
  • French Fluency is a must
  • Case Management; executing on a file from A – Z
  • Demonstrated Interest in employment legislation including ESA, OHS, Human Rights, case law
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong demonstration of applying judgment to problem solves
  • Ability to manage a fast paced work environment
  • Exercise a high standard of confidentiality practices
