MRM is seeking an Bilingual Proofreader with an excellent command of the English and French language, grammar and punctuation. This person will help manage the execution of projects such as email blasts, direct mail pieces, website updates and more. S/he will report to the Management Supervisor and work in partnership agency departments, other agencies/partners and Clients to execute a number of critical projects.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills in order to keep all parties updated on project progress, issues, etc. This person will have a sense of urgency and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with team members to provide proofreading and quality control of all studio developed marketing material in both English and French languages
• Provide suggestions for possible copy edits
• Learn and understand client lexicons and terminology
• Create, update and maintain client based lexicon documents and translation memory application
• Upon request, provide translations as required from either English to French or vice versa
• Reviewing translation to ensure the source text has been accurately and appropriately reflected in the target language
• Performing a final linguistic check on deliverable, alignment to project brief instructions, and attest to the same prior to delivery.
• Have excellent command of English & French languages, grammar and punctuation.
• Must be a strong communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey requirements
• Proactive in researching all copy, questioning the slightest detail, including legal copy & disclaimers, that could potentially be misunderstood by the consumer audience.
• Utilize online tools to review and annotate marketing materials to promote a sustainable and eco-friendly environment
• Track and enter time efficiently against project job numbers.
• Capable to perform under tight deadlines and pressure; cognizant that there is zero tolerance for error in the final release version of material
• Ability to adapt and learn new formats and digital procedures
• Must be a team player, always willing to lend a hand

Education and Experience Requirements

• BA/BFA in English/French language studies required.
• Proactive and self starter
• Work well with other team members
• Minimum 2 years experience in advertising/marketing proofreading
• Accuracy is vitally important. Detail-oriented a must.
• Able to handle pressure due to tight deadlines.
• Good memory for projects over time.
