The Properties group is integral to the achievement of regional transportation objectives in the Region through property land acquisition, management and disposition.

The Property Acquisition Coordinator is responsible for managing all property acquisition activities and delivery of property for projects, including resource budgeting, contract management, appraisal valuation, business valuation, land survey, road closures, expropriation and related project management.The position leads, plans and manages property acquisition projects for fee simple, crown land, gravel pits, statutory rights of ways, temporary licenses and easements.

Job Requirements

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
  • Grade 12 plus Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Urban Land Economics with Appraisal Option, or professionally recognized training in business administration, management, commerce or appraisal.
  • Accreditation with the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AACI) or RI(BC) Appraisal Option.
  • A minimum of fouryears of experience in project or program management, property acquisition, survey or negotiation; preferably in the public sector.
  • Experience in planning, coordinating and managing projects and contract services.
PROVISOS
  • Valid B.C. driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to travel as assignments dictate.
  • Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check
