Job Description

Allied Universal is currently hiring SecurityProfessionalsfor one of our industrial sites located 20 minutes north of Fort Saskatchewan.

• Hourly Rate - $20. 56
• 12-hour shift on a rotating shift schedule - FULL TIME HOURS
• Excellent with customers, Effective communication skillls ,confidence with dealing with high pressure situations.
• Must be willing to abide by clean shave policy for site.
• Must have VALID Alberta Security License
• Must have VALID NON-GDL Driver’s License

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Check identification of staff entering the facility
• Issue visitors with correct identification and ensuring that it is returned on completion of visit
• Conduct foot patrols of buildings
• Observe and report suspicious activities and persons.
• Detect or prevent thefts and vandalism
• Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports
• Enforce rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance
• Resolve conflict situations whilst staying calm and collective
• Use communication devices such as radios and cell phones
• Follow radio and emergency telephone procedures
• Ensure that safety and emergency procedures are followed
• Respond to alarms and other emergencies

Requirements:

• Ability to deal with high pressure situations
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Have a reliable vehicle to travel to the site
• Must have VALID Alberta Security License
• Must have VALID NON-GDL Driver’s License (May be requested to provide 5-year drivers abstract upon hire)
• Must be flexible and be able to work days, afternoons and nights
• Must be willing to abide by clean shave policy for site.
• Read, understand, and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving, and receiving instructions, using phones
• Be available to work morning, afternoons, evenings and overnight
• If applicable, valid work visa
• Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills to utilize innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites.
• Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces
• Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
• Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
• Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
• Run as needed
• Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; will require strong computer skills
• Must have a strong attention to detail
• Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat
• Salary: $20.56 /hour
