Winter Canada Jobs Program
Through the Canada Jobs program you have the chance to work with us in achieving our mission. Staff will get a chance to immerse themselves in our culture, heritage, and language as they contribute to building a cultural and economic hub deep in the Mackenzie Delta.
ECO-VILLAGE ASSOCIATE:
During the colder months this role largely consists of building small-scale greenhouses and cabins, clearing land, building an Igloo Village, managing our fuel and water systems and dog handling.
ELIGIBILITY:

• Have good physical stamina – work is physically demanding and you are on your feet most of the time in an extremely cold climate
• a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Detail-oriented
• Quick learner
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team including living cooperatively in a farm setting
• Must be of 18-30 years of age (as part of the Canada Jobs Program)

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

• Working knowledge of power tools such as chainsaws, drills, table saws
• Manual labour in construction
• Experience working with dogs is an asset
• Experience managing off-grid energy and water systems is an asset
• A valid driver’s license
• A valid boating license is an asset

Contract length: 13 weeks

Expected start date: 2021-10-01

Salary: $15.00-$20.00 per hour
