About the Role

Bethany Care Society (BCS) is looking for Screeners to act as administrative support as the first point of contact at our building entrances to support the continued prevention against the spread of Covid 19.

As a Screener, you will have the opportunity to use your exceptional customer services skills to communicate with and screen employees, family support person(s) and visitors regarding their general feeling of health or illness. This will ensure our sites stay safe and healthy for our clients and staff.

In addition to screening patients with questions regarding their health, you will also convey the message around proper hand hygiene and mask wearing. You will ensure entrants perform proper hand hygiene with alcohol based hand rub prior to entering the main building.

This position will be required to assist with mask wearing and educating on donning and doffing of masks and you will be expected to articulate expectations to all persons entering the site and answer questions regarding screening to make certain the COVID-19 Essential Visitor and Designated Family/Support guidelines are followed.

What You Will Do

• You will demonstrate strong communication, professionalism and customer service skills; be self-directed; demonstrate time management, confliction resolution, and decision-making skills and foster collaboration with members of the interdisciplinary team.
• This position may also support other needs at the site including meal support for safe feeding, resident portering, technology support and support to our Care & Therapy teams to ensure residents receive exceptional care.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or Equivalent
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting is considered an asset
