Whissell is currently looking for a Project Coordinator to join our Lethbridge team. The successful candidate will display high attention to detail as they assist the Operations Team with various aspects of construction projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will support Whissell’s vision, mission, S.P.I.R.I.T of values, and three daily pillars of Safety, Quality and Efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

Have a thorough knowledge of the plans and specifications of the project

Establish and maintain professional relationships with all project stakeholders

Emphasize safety as a number one value of Whissell including ensuring that safety policies and safe work methods are implemented at the job site

Responsible for tracking actual production quantities and costs and reporting them to the Project Manager

Compile productivity factors from field reporting, compare the actual to expected production factors and report back to Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Managers

Develop, monitor, update and communicate the schedule progress

Oversee all field correspondence/site documentation to the Owner, Engineers, Subcontractors, Vendors, etc.

Manage subcontract schedules and monitor quality of work as directed by the Project Manager

Compile and track quantities and costs; document, plan revisions, Change Orders and all other paperwork required on the project

Ensure compliance and monitor employee compliance with Whissell and local Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment regulations and standards

Maintain project files

Maintain and foster a clean and organized work environment

Additional Responsibilities As Directed

Position is based on a 40-hour workweek, additional hours may be required during peak construction months.

Essential Qualifications

Completion of post-secondary program, focused on construction is preferred

Experience coordinating projects within the underground utility and construction industry

CET or EIT designation is preferred

Self-motivated with strong time management skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience With Microsoft Suite Is Required
