Protec Dental Laboratories Ltd. is a growing full-service dental laboratory located in Olympic Village area. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an Inventory & Purchasing Assistant. The ideal candidate must have good communication and interpersonal skills, a natural curiosity and willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment as a team player and independently.

The Inventory & Purchasing Assistant will report to the General Manager

What You Will Be Doing

  • Ensure specific individual and common areas are adequately supplied with Sanitol, Mr. Clean, Cloths and Hand Sanitizers. These items are to be replenished within a timely manner.
  • Monitor, input and reconcile inventory levels of materials, equipment and supplies using Fishbowl. Identify trends and inefficiencies and maintain strong communication with the Inventory & Purchasing Coordinators.
  • Prepare requisition orders to replenish materials, equipment and supplies.
  • Provides support with all activities during the purchasing, receiving and distribution process, such as creating purchase orders, monitoring transportation and invoice creation and follow-through.
  • Provides support with cycle counts and semiannual full physical counts
  • Layout storage space in a productive, logical manner and maintain it in the same manner.
  • Manage and resolve internal and external issues by conducting an adequate investigation to provide stakeholders with an adequate resolution.
  • Engage in professional and respectful communication with all stakeholders. Recognize and take every reasonable effort to diffuse a conflict solution, focusing on resolution.
  • Populate Fishbowl with new parts and products on an as-needed basis.
  • Provide support, training, and coaching feedback in distribution and receiving as needed. Adheres to company policies to lead by example.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment which focuses on delivering high levels of team engagement.
  • Seek advice, input and feedback from the Inventory & Purchasing Coordinators when needed.

What You Will Need

  • Must be physically fit and willing and able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience
  • Post-secondary education and/or previous work experience in supply chain or purchasing is preferred.
  • Current driver’s license with a good driving record (occasional delivery between company locations).
  • Strong computer skills; experience setting up and using an inventory management system.
  • Basic Excel knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, relationship building and telephone skills.
  • Strong competency in reading and writing in English, as well as strong numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems and make decisions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail oriented and understands the importance of accuracy.
  • Possesses a positive attitude and good work ethic.
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity and professionalism at all times.

Job Type

  • Full-time Monday to Friday during business hours (8:00am-5:00pm)
