We are currently seeking Intermediate Linear Design Engineer / Contract Administrator to support our linear water/wastewater rehabilitation team.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Civil Design team to deliver linear water/wastewater/stormwater conveyance and rehabilitation design projects and provide Construction Administration Service during construction.
  • Review inspections of linear water and wastewater assets and perform condition assessment in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Participate in or supervise the development of engineering studies and reports
  • Participate in or lead development of preliminary and detailed designs for new linear infrastructure and rehabilitation of existing linear water/wastewater/stormwater assets.
  • Participate in or lead development of drawings, specifications contract documents and construction cost estimates with minimal supervision.
  • Assist or lead proposal development.
  • Coordination with sub-contractors and sub-consultants.
  • Liaison with stakeholders, regulatory and permit and approval agencies
  • Provide Contract Administration services for private, provincial, and municipal linear infrastructure projects.
  • Liaise with the project managers, designers, field inspectors, contractors, property owners, and clients daily throughout the construction period.
  • Responsible for execution of all contract administration documents, monthly payment certificates, substantial & total performance documentation.
  • Responsible to work with the project team to manage field changes, construction claims, and to find resolution to construction issues throughout construction.
  • Responsible for hosting construction progress meetings, drafting of meeting agendas, and issue of meeting minutes for record.
  • Maintaining of the electronic and paper filing systems as per ISO standards
  • Work with field inspection staff on the project as they perform inspection, daily observation reports, track on-site resident issues, manage deficiencies, as-built record drawings, and to log photographs throughout construction.
Preferred Qualifications And Experience Listed Below
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or applicable discipline
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the water industry with a substantial focus on rehabilitation of existing linear water & wastewater infrastructure.
  • NASSCO PACP/MACP/LACP certified
  • Experience preparing feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs for rehabilitation of linear water and wastewater infrastructure, including large diameter sanitary sewers,
  • Experience as a Contract Administrator on water and/or wastewater contracts with construction value greater than $5 million. Preferably rehabilitation contracts.
  • Experience with contract administration documents, including but not limited to progress payments, field orders, change orders, change directives, RFI’s, leading site meetings, preparation of minutes, and providing guidance to the contract team in relation to contractual items.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and MS project, and/or other scheduling software.
  • Ability to participate in and lead multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Experience and/or participation in industry organizations
