EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Family Court Worker

The Yorkton Tribal Council is seeking one (1) highly motivated individual for the term position of Family Courtworker Researcher.Reporting to the Director of Justice, the Family Services Researcher position is responsible to research and consult with each YTC First Nation, consult with internal departments, consult with external agencies (eg: Ministry, ICFS, RCMP, etc.) to determine what types of services are needed, gaps in current services, barriers to service, and to determine the feasibility of a Family Courtworker program.

Reporting to the Director of Justice, the Family Courtworker Researcher position is responsible for the following:

Duties:

· Development of Research tools/methods to gather information and assess community needs.

· Conduct a Needs Assessment to determine the gap in services related to Family Court Proceedings.

· Develop a confidential sign-up, to determine how many people need support services, however services would not be provided, this would be to determine how many people would be “ready” or “needing” to access a Family Courtworker services

· Conduct Community Consultation in each of YTC Member Nations.

· Host a presentation in each community on what services and supports are currently available to those needed to access Family Court services.

· Create community hand-out/information bulletin outlining current resources/services available in absence of legal representation.

· Maintain current records and confidential reports.

· Planning and scheduling of upcoming consultations and presentations would be completed.

· Create final report to be submitted to funding agency.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Must have a experience conducting research and writing reports.

· Must have 2 years of prior experience working with the public, youth, and adults.

· Must be willing to travel and must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle and must submit a current Criminal Record Check.

· Work irregular or extended hours to complete special requests and/or projects.

· Must be able to work as a team member and unsupervised.

· The environment requires excellent organizational, time management and stress management skills.

Salary: To Commensurate with qualifications. Combination of education, relevant training and work experience will be considered.
