Profile

The Edmonton Valley Line West (EVLW) LRT project is a 14-km long line extension of Edmonton’s growing LRT System. It is the first LRT extension project using low-floor vehicle technology in Western Canada and will be a landmark LRT endeavour after the 5-year construction term. Marigold Infrastructure Partners (MIP) is the Joint Venture group that has been selected to design and build this portion of the ELVW.

MIP is adding a Social Media Coordinator (SMC) to support the Communications team. The SMC will be a dynamic communicator who is passionate about engaging with community members about their communities. They will have a proven commitment to customer service, be a self-starter and team player.

Responsibilities
  • Execute Marigold’s social media strategy which includes:
  • maintaining Marigold’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube)
  • social media monitoring
  • developing engaging and compelling content.
  • relaying Project concerns identified on social media platforms
  • provide regular updates and analytics
  • draft responses to social media inquiries
  • support the City of Edmonton’s social media strategy as directed by the City.
  • Monitor phone line and email inquiries and coordinate with communications manager and stakeholder relations manager for social media responses
  • Support the communications team in its daily functions and attend events and meetings away from the office when required
  • Coordinate videos, photos, artists renderings, promotional material, booth for events and other pop up style events, display boards, paid print and digital advertisements, mailouts, postcards
  • writing public notices
  • providing holiday coverage for other members of the communications team
  • Administrative duties that support the communications team including scheduling meetings and drafting meeting minutes and responding to public calls
Preferred Qualification
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Ability to derive language, tone, and messaging unique to the stakeholders
  • Advanced level working ability with Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledgeable about the various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) for creation of relevant content and interactive media experiences
  • Up-to-speed with changing updates, tools, rules, and algorithms to create an active social media strategy.
  • Understand the urgency of responding to audience in a swift and helpful manner.
  • Metric-driven to determine what tactics are most effective and where improvements are required.
  • Flexibility to respond with ease to changing dynamics of the role.
  • Post-secondary in one of the following: Business, Communications, Public Relations or Marketing preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience responsibility for company or project social media required.
