Labourer CANA Energy

CANA Energy is looking for Grande Prairie local Labourers for a four month project. We specialize in Traffic Controls and Street Lights, Natural Gas and Fibre Optics, Underground and Overhead Powerline Distribution and Construction.

JOB INFO

• 10 Days on 4 Days Off – Evenings, Weekends and Over Time as required
• PPE Allowance

As the Labourer you are expected to be engaged in our safety program, executing work in a safe manner, in adherence with CANA policies and all applicable code regulations and the Act.

YOU WILL

• Dig ditches or trenches, excavating, sanding, backfilling excavations and compacting/leveling
• Help with the installations, setting and framing of poles and streetlights
• Place conduit and different types of cables
• String conductors and run handlines
• Install:
• shallow utilities for residential and commercial sites
• underground cables and conduit
• pre-cast concrete structures and underground fibre glass vaults
• Organize, clean, and maintain job site, equipment, and tools

YOU WILL NEED

• Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract
• Class 3 or Class 1 is an asset
• Willing and able to commute to various job sites
• Reliable transportation is a must

NICE TO HAVE

• Previous electrical utilities experience
• Backhoe and/or Trackhoe equipment operating experience
• Experience working in close proximity to active heavy machinery
• Previous flagger experience

WORKING CONDITIONS

The nature of this position requires physically demanding motions and tasks. Candidates are required to successfully complete a Pre-Employment Assessment including drug and alcohol screening and fitness test requiring the ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly. CANA has projects all over Western Canada. Travel and shift work may be required with this position. Be prepared for the possibility of travel throughout Alberta. CANA Energy operates year-round and outdoors in all types of terrain and environments. All employees must have FR Personal Protective Equipment.
