This position will oversee the development of Project Quality Plans and Equipment Inspection and Test Plans based on customer specifications, internal requirements, and applicable codes.Overall Responsibilities:The list below highlights the essential job responsibilities but is not exhaustive.

• Development of Project Quality Plans and equipment Inspection and Test Plans based on customer specifications, internal requirements and applicable Codes.
• Attend project kickoff meetings and vendor pre-fabrication meetings to ensure all requirements are understood and project closeout meetings to capture any lessons learned.
• Assign inspectors based on individual skills and workloads and hire third party contract inspectors as required.
• Liaise with customer representatives, monitor progress via inspection reports, punch lists and non-conformance reports.
• Review and compile project quality and traceability documentation.
• Review sub-vendor project non-destructive examination and test procedures for compliance with Code and Customer requirements.
• Write project test procedures for any required NDE or testing by MIW personnel (such as ferrite testing or positive material identification).
• Audit sub-vendor quality procedures and fabrication facilities.
• Control the maintenance and calibration of company measuring and test equipment.
• Supervise and direct a team of Quality Inspectors.
• Overall responsibility for the company’s Quality Management system including maintaining ISO 2001:2015 registration.

Qualifications, Skills, Competencies:

• ESSENTIAL
• A combination of the following;
• Supervisory/management experience
• Ten years of applied QC or QA/QC experience with understanding and practical application of the ISO 9001:2015 standard
• Working knowledge of CSA B.51; ASME II, V, VIII, IX; ASME B31.3; and CSA W59.
• BENEFICIAL
• Knowledge of ASME RTP-1; ASME B31.1; API 650, 12F; AWS D1.1; and P.E.D.
• Understanding of Lining & Coating Standards SSPC and NACE.
• General understanding of material chemistry (carbon, austenitic stainless, low alloy, etc.), and physical properties (tensile, yield, hardness, impact, etc.).
• General knowledge of standard weld processes and typical usage such as SAW; SMAW; GMAW; FCAW; and GTAW
• Working knowledge of Radiography; Ultrasonic testing; Magnetic Particle Inspection (dry, wet, wet fluorescent); and Liquid Penetrant Inspection.
• Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills are prevalent; responds exceptionally well to urgent issues in fast paced environments
• Outstanding interpersonal skills to respond effectively to staff/client inquiries and work well in a team environment; driven intrapersonal skills to be able to be a focused and efficient independent worker
• Maintains effective linkages with all levels of contacts and acts as the pinnacle point of contact with suppliers and inspectors
• Superior communication skills and managerial skills to take charge of multiple tasks and be cross-functional to provide support to other areas of the business unit
• Sound knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Outlook, and an above average skill level with Excel
• Ability to weigh the risks and benefits of Quality on the business
