Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and adaptable Project manager with Mechanical engineering background. The incumbent will play a key role in engineering projects, from front end-studies through field implementation. As part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, this role will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional technical quality, developing new business opportunities and nurturing the professional development of members of the Mechanical team. The responsibilities of this role include performing the following activities according to BBA quality standards:

• Manage and lead single and multi-discipline projects in the mining, power and industrial sectors.
• Interact with and coordinate internal and external stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, vendors and project team members.
  
• Execute projects throughout various stages including feasibility studies, preliminary design, detailed design, construction, commissioning and closeout.
  
• Lead teams of engineers, designers, project controls and procurement specialists.
  
• Take a lead role in preparing proposals and contributing to business development activities.
  
• Build and adhere to project schedules and budgets for projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  
• Ensure projects are executed in accordance with applicable project processes and deliverables are produced in compliance with BBA’s quality procedures.
  
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with BBAs Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
  
• Risk and change management.
  
• Solve technical, budget and project team issues in a proactive and timely manner to limit potential detrimental effects.
  
• Act as a mentor and leader for junior staff.

Requirements

• 
  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mining, power or industrial sectors including 5+ years experience as a project manager or project engineer.
  
• Applied experience throughout the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual studies to detailed design and construction.
  
• PMP designation is considered an asset.
  
• Experience managing and leading multi-discipline teams.
  
• On-site experience as well as focus on work safety is considered an asset.
  
• Ability to travel and perform site work, where required.
