Successful candidates will be required to perform work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus, as required.Note: These are part-time temporary Faculty positions starting September 5, 2023 and ending December 15, 2023.The Donald J. Smith School of Building Technology is looking for qualified Part-time, Partial Load and Sessional Professors to teach courses in the Building Information Modeling and Integrated Practice program.QualificationsGENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
  • Excellent communicator
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies are required
  • Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery preferred
  • Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets
Specific Qualifications
  • Post-secondary 3-year diploma/degree in Architecture/Architectural Technology or a related area with BIM knowledge and experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Architecture or related construction discipline
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • Current knowledge and experience using BIM to deliver projects
  • Experience in design and project delivery using BIM methods and platforms
  • Intermediate to advanced REVIT knowledge
  • Virtual Design and Construction experience as a consultant or project manager is an asset
