Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology (IT), Grain Division, the Junior Network & Systems Administratorwill be the primary escalation and knowledge transfer point for the help desk and will assist during periods of high volume with front line requests.

The Junior Network & Systems Administrator will be accountable for finding solutions and documenting second level technical challenges in addition to being a personable and professional representative of the IT Department. The ideal candidate will have verifiable expertise and experience in a previous Tier 2 role as well as basic experience completing infrastructure tasks and projects.

Your day-to-day activities will include:
  • Participate in the day-to-day operations, providing support and backup of all IT functions;
  • Monitor the support queue to ensure adequate coverage to resolve tickets as per the SLA;
  • Network infrastructure design & development, system security, identity management, server maintenance;
  • Identify problems and develop solutions that can be deployed at scale;
  • Continual growth and learning of best practices for all aspects of infrastructure management;
  • Liaising with team members and clients to ensure projects and requests are completed to standard;
  • Identify problems and develop solutions.

The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:
  • Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or Information Technologies, or a combination of experience and education in a related field;
  • 1+ years’ experience in network and systems management/administration;
  • 4+ years of practical IT experience;
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT service delivery principles;
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks independently and communicate effectively both oral and written;
  • Proven ability to solve problems in a proactive manner;
  • Experience or training with the following technologies is required:
    • Microsoft Windows Server
    • Azure security, networking, and hosting
    • Active Directory, hybrid and AAD
    • Networking-Firewall Security and VPN (Cato Networks, Cisco)
    • Supporting infrastructure hardware such as routers, switches, APs (HP Aruba & ProCurve, Cisco)
    • Citrix VDI and Virtual App, on-premises and DaaS
    • VMware vSphere and Dell Compellent Storage
    • Email threat protection configuration and management (Proofpoint)
    • End Point Security management
    • VOIP and POTs configuration and troubleshooting
    • Microsoft 365 Administration, including modern authentication, licensing, and access policies
    • Microsoft Exchange Online, Teams Calling, SharePoint, Security
    • Mobile Device Management (primarily iOS)
    • JIRA issue and request tracking
    • Data security and analytic software (Varonis)
  • Ability to work flexible hours in support of requirements that may fall outside of the typical work hour framework;
  • Successful Candidate will be required to travel between P&H sites and/or other locations as required.
